Translated by Sabrin Qadah
Member of Fatah Central Committee D. Mohammad Shtayyeh said today that the European Union should play a bigger role in finding a just political solution that would give the Palestinian people their acquired national rights, stressing the importance of integrating European efforts with the efforts of the current American administration.
This came during a meeting with the Swedish Consul General in Jerusalem, Anne Sophie, and political adviser at the Swedish consulate, Eric Bjork.
Shtayyeh said that the Palestinian leadership is committed to the need to find a peaceful and just solution for the Palestinian people, which respects the minimum national rights of the establishment of a full Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, and East Jerusalem as the capital of the state of Palestine.
Shtayyeh pointed to the importance of moving forward the process of internal Palestinian reconciliation and building the Palestinian political system on the basis of partnership, indicating the need to provide the necessary support to raise the suffering of citizens in the southern provinces and improve the economic, social and political conditions.
