Ramallah - The Project Department of the Palestinian Economic Council for Development and Reconstruction (PECDAR) said that the implementation of the theater of Al-Quds Open University in its Nablus and Hebron branches is nearing completion.

The Project Manager at PECDAR, Eng. Raed Anabtawi, explained that the two projects are valued at approximately $ 600,000, funded by the Arab Monetary Fund under the management of the Islamic Development Bank. He pointed out that the two projects aim to enhance the educational process at the university, in addition to providing theaters within the international standards, encouraging activities and artistic and cultural performances, especially in light of the scarcity of theaters in Palestine.

For his part, said the engineer supervisor of the project, Samer Kharouf, that the university theater in the Nablus branch is an indoor theater in a circle shape that can accommodate about 380 seats. He explained that the project is worth $130 million and includes the construction of the building and finishing with all the required works of decor and sound, lighting and air conditioning, within the specifications of the theaters.

He added that the university theater project in Hebron is limited to finishing the theater with a value of 550 thousand dollars, and includes the establishment of a runway of concrete and theater platform and finishes for decoration, acoustics, lighting and control room and soundproof doors, adding that the theater also accommodates about 380 seats.
