Translated by Sabrin Qadah
Ramallah - the member of the Central Committee of the Fatah movement D. Mohamed Stayyeh said that positive atmosphere prevailed in the dialogue session that was held yesterday with the Hamas movement in Cairo to discuss the details of the reconciliation agreement, stressing that reconciliation must return Gaza as a major component in the State of Palestine.
He said during his meeting with the representative of Canada to Palestine, Douglas Scott Broudfoot, in his office in Ramallah today, that reconciliation must ensure the empowerment of the Gaza Strip by abolishing the de facto statehood into one authority, one entity and one legitimacy. He pointing out that job sharing is unacceptable in neither the West Bank nor Gaza.
He continued: We will work with Hamas to achieve a political program to establish a national partnership with all Palestinian factions.
He explained that what is needed is to revive the economy, but within the same political, security and regional tracks, not separately as promoted by the Israelis.
Shtayyeh said that despite the occupation measures that suffocate the economy, there is a courage to invest and people are able to take the initiative and bear the calculated risk.
