Shtayyeh calls on Egypt to intervene for the sake of Al-Aqsa

The member of the Central Committee of the Fatah movement, D. Mohamed Shtayyeh, called on Egypt to intervene to end the occupation measures in al-Aqsa mosque and restore the situation to what it was.

Shtayyeh said during his meeting with the Egyptian Ambassador, Sami Murad, that Egypt should communicate with the Israeli side and Netanyahu to pressure him to stop what is happening in Jerusalem.

He explained that the Palestinians would not agree to the existence of electronic gates erected by the occupation or any means to impose the sovereignty of the occupation on the city.

He pointed out that the practices of the occupation will double the crisis in Jerusalem as it is a collective punishment against the citizens living and working in the Old City and its surroundings, where the occupation deprives them of movement, work and exercising their normal lives.
