PECDAR Concludes a Course in Employment Programs and Poverty Alleviation in Amman

Representatives of various Palestinian institutions attended the training, which lasted a full week

 

AMMAN- Palestinian Economic Council for Development and Reconstruction "PECDAR", and The Arab Planning Institute in Kuwait concluded on Thursday, an intensive training program in the Jordanian capital Amman on the policies and programs of employment and poverty alleviation, which was attended by 25 employees from different Palestinian municipalities and ministries and relevant institutions.

The goal of the training, which was managed by an expert from the Arab Planning Institute, Dr. Alameddine Abdullah Banga, was to provide the trainees with the knowledge and skills about the techniques and indicators of poverty and poor income distribution and how to apply them. It also aimed to familiarize the participants with the most important policies and programs for poverty alleviation in the Arab countries, anti-poverty policies that support justice for a fair distribution of income, and to identify the features of the role of governments and civil society organizations in the fight against poverty with a focus on those policies in the Arab countries.

 

In particular, the program aimed to enable participants to prepare national plans and programs aimed at building and strengthening the skills of young people and creating decent jobs for them.

kholoud Matari, the training manager in "PECDAR" said: the program sought to provide participants with the skills and new ideas, and create a continuing network between the 25 people coming from different institutions working in the field of employment and the fight against poverty in Palestine, thus increasing the coordination and communication between these institutions.

 

The training is part of a program implemented by the Arab Planning Institute in Kuwait for the benefit of the Palestinian Economic Council for Development and Reconstruction- PECDAR, which targets strengthening the skills of government and non-government officials in various fields.

 

The training, which lasted a full week, was attended by representatives from each of: the Ministry of Social Development, ministry of Labor, ministry of finance, ministry of local governance, ministry of planning, culture, health, agriculture, Awqaf and education, as well as the Central Bureau of Statistics and the body of Prisoner Affairs. That is in addition to the PADRRIF, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ramallah and Al Bireh, the Palestinian economic policy research institute (MAS) and Faten Foundation for lending.
