Shtayyeh Calls on Nominating for the Grants of Islamic Development Bank”

The Governor of Palestine to the Islamic Development Bank, D. Mohammed Shtayyeh, announced the opening of nomination to the bank grant programs for outstanding students in science, technology and Master’s degree of the Year 2018/2017.
He explained that the first MA program offers grants to promising students in disciplines that would promote development in the Member States of the Islamic Development Bank, such as science, technology, engineering, agriculture and medicine. As part of the scholarship, selected candidates will continue to study for a master's degree for a period of two years in a one of the Member State institutions of the bank.
The grant includes: tuition and living costs, medical insurance, as well as clothes, books, computer, in addition to participation in conferences, as well as research. The second program "scholarship program for high achievers in science and technology for the benefit of the Member States of the bank", however, offers scholarships for promising scientists and researchers to carry out studies and research advanced in the areas of applied science and technology required by the development in the Member States of the bank.
The program covers two types of study, namely: the study of 3-year doctoral degree, and post-doctorate research of between 6 months-12 months. The grant will cover all tuition fees and subsistence expenses, health insurance, a ticket to the place of study, participation in conferences, preparing and printing of scientific research and buying a personal computer costs.
A PhD candidate must secure admission to one of the universities, which are contained in the list of the “Time” newspaper appendix for Higher Education. Priority is given to candidates for doctoral scholarship who were accepted by the universities that signed cooperation agreements with the bank, such as "Cambridge" and "Oxford" and "Nottingham" and "Birmingham", and the University College London in the United Kingdom, the University (Paris Tech) in France, the King Abdullah University for Science and technology in Saudi Arabia and Princeton University in the United States.
A winning candidate must secure a letter of invitation from a prestigious research center whether in the Member States of the bank or in the developed countries.
Those wishing to run for the three levels can obtain an application from the Islamic Development Bank site: www.isdb.org, then hand it in to the Office of the Governor of Palestine to the Islamic Development Bank in the Palestinian Economic Council for Development and Reconstruction, "PECDAR", in Ramallah, at the latest deadline on Tuesday evening, 01/31/2017.
In this context, Shtayyeh congratulated student Iman Sweti, the Bank grant winning for a doctorate degree this year majoring in Civil Engineering, as well as the other three students who received a master's grant, they are: Bassam Abu Nahel majoring in radiology, Islam al-Aidi majoring in microbiology and Mannar Suweti majoring in environmental engineering . All of whom are from the Gaza Strip.
