Ireland Contributes to Half a Million Euros to Support Education in Palestine

Minister of Education and Higher Education Sabri Saydam met in his office in Ramallah, Tuesday, Representative of Ireland to the State of Palestine Jonathan Conlon; as the latter handed over a book that involves half a million euros; to support the education sector in order to implement events and activities through the ministry's strategy for the coming years plan. This will bring Ireland's contribution to education during the current year to two million euros through co-financing fund JFA.

 

In this context, Saydam praised the Irish support and efforts to serve many sectors especially the education sector, stressing the need to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and partnership for the educational learning process service.

 

Saydam affirmed that this support demonstrates the sense of belonging to education, and the emphasis on providing quality services aimed at the advancement of the sector, pointing out that Ireland is one of the supportive partners of the Ministry through what is known as the fund of co-financing JFA.

 

For his part, Conlon confirmed the great care given by his country to strengthen partnership with Palestine through education, stressing that this support is added to other contributions from Ireland Educational annually.

 

He stressed that Ireland will continue to support the education sector through various joint programs and projects aimed at expanding the horizons of cultural exchange and implementation of training programs and other activities.

 

The meeting was attended by a delegation from the British Organization “thinking for the future”, which is in a strong partnership with the Ministry of Education in the areas of public and higher education, particularly in the training of university students and providing them with expertise, knowledge and capacity among workers in the educational field. The meeting was also attended by general manager of educational supervision and rehabilitation Shahnaz al-Far, Director of international relations Nadim Makhalfeh and programs consultant in the Irish Representative Emile Makhlouf.
