Palestinian Economic Council for Development and Reconstruction "PECDAR" signed today at its headquarters in Ramallah, an agreement with the Palestinian Ro’ya institution witha total value of 300 thousand dollars divided into three stages to implement a project for the restoration and maintenance of houses in the outskirts of Jerusalem, funded by the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah.
The Convention is one of 15 separate agreement for projects and programs targeting Jerusalem with funding from the Islamic Development Bank with a total value of $ 6 million to support a variety of sectors, including: education, restoration of the buildings sector, the empowerment of women, youth and sports, as well as cultural and social sector.
Engineer Raed Anabtawi Project Manager at "PECDAR", said that the importance of the project lies in facing challenges and constraints imposed by the occupation on citizens of these suburbs that are denied the construction of new houses or renovating the old ones, knowing that many of the homes of the area are in poor condition.
Anabtawi noted that the project will come into implementation frame immediately after the signing, and will be divided into three stages to include more than forty houses.
For his part, CEO of the Palestinian Ro’ya institution Rami Nasser al-Din, said that the first phase will take four months and is worth 100 thousand dollars.
He explained that his organization, which is the body responsible for following-up and implementing the project, has studied joint technical flaws in the homes of the region. Therefore, the project gives priority to the maintenance of roofs, walls and floors in addition to the painting and installation of windows and doors and rehabilitation of electricity, sewage and water networks.
The Palestinian Ro’ya Foundation is a non-profit youthful organization founded in 1998 by a group of entrepreneurs that seeks to empower Palestinian youth to deepen the national consciousness, increase leadership opportunities, and promote genuine partnership with the national networks.
