Water sector Organization Council was ratified as a board member of the Arab Countries Water Utilities Association (ACWUA), as it was also ratified by the World Health Organization to participate in the global forum activities of water organizers ,which is held once a year in different countries.

The Council was also ratified to participate in all the Arab Water Council activities, and therefore, will take part in the preparations for the Arab Water Week, which will be held in March next year in Jordan.

This came through the participation of the Water sector Organization Council represented by its executive director, Mohammad al-Hamidi, in the MDG + Initiative, which is an elevated meeting on sustainable development goals related to water. It was held in Jordan at the invitation of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), and in high-level regional and international presence.

The meeting discussed the sustainable development of 2030, which was adopted in last year's UN summit. The meeting focused on the sixth goal in the plan, which is "to ensure water and sanitation for all with sustainable management."

The MDG+ initiative findings for 2016 were also presented. Experiences and lessons learned from the implementation of the initiative were exchanged, while the meeting was based on the deliberation of global, regional, and local expertise on water-related indicators.

Al-Hamidi said that these regional and international achievements will be added to the Council’s archive, which continuously and efficiently functions on the ground  in order to promote the organization of the water sector in Palestine, and to be an Arab and regional model that’s its  experience be taught everywhere.

He continued: "These successes wouldn’t have been come true if we haven’t demonstrated the efficiency of the council technically and artistically, and clarified transparency of our work and accuracy of our results. We will continue to work seriously to raise Palestine’s name as an honorable model in the organization of the water sector, in partnership with all stakeholders and local parties under a positive participatory framework.”
