PCBS: Decrease in Construction Cost Index for Residential Buildings in WB during July 2016

The Palestinian Central Bureau for Statistics issued on Thursday a press release on the Construction Cost Index (CCI), Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank during July 2016.

According to the press release, there was a decline in the CCI for residential, non-residential, and skeleton buildings, as well as in the RCI and WNCI. Conversely, the SNCI increased by 0.28%.

The Construction Cost Index for residential buildings in the West reached 102.66, decreasing by 0.45% Bank during July in comparison with June 2016 (base year 2013=100).

The Construction Cost Index for residential buildings decreased due to the decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.77%, while rental of equipment increased by 0.51%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during July 2016 in comparison with the previous month.

The Construction Cost Index for non-residential buildings in the West Bank reached 102.77, decreasing by 0.49% during July in comparison with June 2016.

The Construction Cost Index for non-residential buildings decreased due to the decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.81%, while rental of equipment increased by 0.47%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during July 2016 compared with the previous month.

The Construction Cost Index for skeleton buildings in the West Bank reached 100.20, decreasing by 0.95% during July in comparison with June 2016.

The Construction Cost Index for Skeleton buildings decreased due to the decrease in the prices of raw materials by 1.47%, while rental of equipment increased by 0.23%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during July 2016 compared with the previous month.

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) in the West Bank reached 107.72, decreasing by 0.30% during July in comparison with June 2016 (base month December 2008=100).

The overall Road Cost Index decreased due to the decline in the prices of raw materials by 0.41%, operating costs of equipment and maintenance by 0.28%, and rental of equipment by 0.24%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during July 2016 in comparison with the previous month.

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) in the West Bank reached 110.65, decreasing by 0.60% during July in comparison with June 2016 (base month January 2010=100).

The Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 103.23, decreasing by 1.60%, and the Water Networks Cost Index reached 114.02, decreasing by 0.18% during July 2016 in comparison with the previous month.

Finally, the overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank reached 107.39, increasing by 0.28% during July in comparison with June 2016 (base month January 2010=100).
