Decline in Trade Deficit during June 2016
According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), the trade deficit decreased by 12.3% during June 2016 in comparison with May 2016. It also slightly decreased by 0.1% in comparison with June 2015, reaching USD 358.4 million.
Palestinian exports decreased by 6.9% during June 2016 in comparison with May 2016, and also decreased by 9.8% in comparison with June 2015, reaching USD 77.7 million.
Additionally, exports to Israel decreased during June 2016 by 7.3% in comparison with May 2016 and represented 87.5% of total exports during June 2016.
At the same time, exports to other countries decreased by 4.2% during the same period in comparison with May 2016.
Imports decreased by 11.4% during June 2016 in comparison with May 2016, and also decreased by 2.0% in comparison with June 2015, reaching USD 436.1 million.
Imports from Israel decreased by 7.3% during June 2016 in comparison with May 2016 and represented 52.9% of total imports during June 2016.
At the same time, imports from other countries decreased by 15.6% in comparison with May 2016.
