The overall Quantity of Industrial Production Index (IPI) in Palestine reached 102.82 during June 2016 decreasing by 4.74% in comparison with May 2016 (Base Month December 2015 = 100).

The Quantity of Industrial Production Index for June 2016 decreased due to the decrease in the activity of Mining and Quarrying by 19.65% which had a share of 4.06% of the total industry, and the activity of Manufacturing Industry by 5.93% which had a share of 83.19% of the total industry.

On the other hand, the activity of Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply increased by 22.44% and had a share of 11.98% of the total industry. The activities of Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation increased by 2.98% and had a share of 0.78% of the total industry.

Additionally, secondary industrial activities had a great effect on the IPI. Some manufacturing activities witnessed a decline during June 2016 in comparison with May 2016, including production of metal products (excluding machines and equipment), food products, non-metal products, soft drinks, pharmaceutical products, leather products, and printing and reproduction of recorded media activities.

However, other activities including production of tobacco products, furniture, wood and its products, garments, and rubber and plastic increased.
