Slight Decline in Public Debt during 1st Half of 2016

According to data published by the Ministry of Finance, Palestinian Public Debt to local and international creditors decreased by $7 million during the first half of 2016 in comparison with the end of 2015,
Domestic and Foreign Public Debt declined to $2 billion and 530 million by the end of June 2016, after having reached $2 billion and 537 million at the end of 2015. Total Foreign Public Debt amounted to $1 billion and 73 million, while Total Domestic Public Debt was $1 billion and 456.6 million
Additionally, data revealed that external support to the Palestinian budget has continued to decline. External support decreased by $148 million during the first six months of 2016 in comparison with the same period in 2015.
Total external support to the budget reached $313 million during the first half of 2016, while it amounted to $461 million during the same period last year.
