PCBS: Increase in GDP at Constant Prices in Palestine during 1st Quarter, 2016
According to a press release issued by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), the GDP at constant prices in Palestine increased during the 1st quarter of 2016 in comparison with the parallel quarter (1st quarter of 2015).
Preliminary estimates at constant prices showed that the GDP increased by 4.2% in the West Bank and by 21.1% in the Gaza Strip in comparison with the 1st quarter of 2015.
They also revealed that the GDP at constant prices increased by 0.6% in Palestine in comparison with the 4th quarter of 2015 (base year is 2004). The GDP at constant prices for the 1st quarter of 2016 reached USD 1,491.6 million in the West Bank and USD 508.9 million in the Gaza Strip.
Additionally, GDP per Capita for Palestine at constant prices reached USD 444.3 during the 1st quarter of 2016, increasing by 4.9% in comparison with the 1st quarter of 2015.
In the West Bank, the GDP per Capita at constant prices was USD 564.0 during the 1st quarter of 2016. It increased by 1.5% during the 1st quarter of 2016 in comparison with the 1st quarter of 2015. In the Gaza Strip, it was USD 273.9 during the 1st quarter of 2016, increasing by 17.1% in comparison with the parallel quarter in 2015.
