Palestinian Exports Reach $80 M in April 2016
According to a press release issued by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), exports increased in April 2016 by 3.8% in comparison with March 2016. Exports also increased by 5.3% in comparison with April 2015 and reached USD 80.0 Million.
Exports to Israel increased in April 2016 by 2.5% in comparison with March 2016 and represented 88.6% of total exports during April 2016.
At the same time, exports to other countries increased by 15.1% during the same period in comparison with March 2016.
Moreover, imports increased slightly by 0.3% in April 2016 in comparison with March 2016. However, imports decreased by 3.5% in comparison with April 2015 and reached USD 405.1 Million.
Imports from Israel increased by 5.2% in April 2016 in comparison with March 2016 and represented 54.5% of total imports during April 2016.
On the other hand, imports from other countries decreased by 5.0% in comparison with March 2016.
As for the Net Trade Balance on Registered Goods:
The trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, decreased by 0.5% in April 2016 in comparison with March 2016. It also decreased by 5.5% in comparison with April 2015 and reached USD 325.1 Million.
