Shtayyeh: Palestine will Benefit from the $6 Bn Japanese Initiative to the Region

The President of the Palestinian Economic Council for Development and Reconstruction (PECDAR), Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh, said that the Japanese Representative to Palestine, Mr. Takeshi Okubo, handed him a Japanese Initiative that aims to develop the economy of the Middle East over the upcoming two years. Japan has pledged $6 billion in aid to the Middle East, including Palestine.
Dr. Shtayyeh explained that the initiative targets all of the region’s countries and neighboring countries hosting refugees, including Palestine. One of the initiative’s programs is creating job opportunities for 20,000 youth in the region.
Additionally, the initiative aims to create stability in the Middle East, provide humanitarian assistance, simulate development and social stability, reform the public sector, create job opportunities, propel industrial and rural development, and achieve equality in education.
