Mohammad Ghazi Herbawi: Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hebron

“Mohammad Ghazi” Herbawi was born in Hebron in 1960. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from a university in Saudi Arabia in 1985. He is married and has four sons.

Mohammad belongs to the Herbawi family who are known for their work in trade and industry which has been passed down across generations. Although he carries a degree in engineering, he preferred to work in the private sector and founded a gold factory.

Al Sayyed Jewelry Company, which belongs to Herbawi, is the largest gold factory in Palestine and it employs 22 people.

Moreover, Herbawi has been the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hebron since 2011, which is known for its activeness and efficiency. In terms of social responsibility, it provided around 250,000 shekels in 2015 as assistance to organizations, societies, and families in need. It also provided assistance to Gaza. During the last Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the Chamber contributed with 150 trucks carrying assistance.

Additionally, Hebrawi founded the Union of Gold Merchants and Factories in Hebron in 2000, and chaired the union until 2005. He was also the vice president of the Palestinian Businessmen Forum during 2008 – 2011. He is the chairman of the Palestinian Union of Precious Metals and is a member of the Arab Businessmen Forum.

Currently, Herbawi serves as the chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Sayyed Jewelry Company,   Supertech Company, and Soft Line Industrial Company - Jordan.
