PCBS: Increase in GDP by 6.1% during 2015
Preliminary estimates at constant prices showed an increase of 6.1% in the GDP in Palestine during the 4th quarter of 2015 compared with the 4th of quarter 2014. The GDP increased by 1.0% in the West Bank and by 24.7% in the Gaza Strip compared with the 4th quarter of 2014, which followed the last aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Moreover, the GDP at constant prices increased by 3.5% in Palestine compared with the 3rd quarter of 2015 (the base year is 2004).
The GDP at constant prices for the 4th quarter of 2015 was USD 1,486.4 million for the West Bank and USD 502.1 million for the Gaza Strip. Additionally, the GDP at constant prices in Palestine increased by 3.5% during the year 2015 compared with the year 2014.
Gross Domestic Product Per Capita
GDP per Capita for Palestine at constant prices amounted to USD 444.8 during the 4th quarter of 2015. It increased by 3.1% compared with the 4th quarter of 2014.
As for the West Bank, the GDP at constant prices amounted to USD 565.7 during the 4th quarter of 2015. It decreased by 1.6% during the 4th quarter of 2015 compared with the 4th quarter of 2014.
The GDP at constant prices for the Gaza Strip amounted to USD 272.4 during the 4th quarter of 2015, and it showed an increase by 20.7% during the 4th quarter of 2015 compared with the parallel quarter in 2014.
