Govt Collects 188 M Shekels in Alcohol and Cigarette Tax
The Ministry of Finance’s data revealed that the Government levied 187.5 million shekels in excise taxes imposed on alcoholic beverages and cigarettes during 2015, in comparison with 237.7 million shekels collected in the same period in 2014.
The data showed that the Government collected 4.4 million shekels in excise tax imposed on alcoholic beverages, while the budget of 2015 anticipated that it would only collect 4 million shekels.
The data also showed that the Government collected 183.1 million shekels in excise tax imposed on cigarettes, while the budget of 2015 anticipated that the cigarette revenues would only reach 242 million shekels.
