The Govt Collects a Billion Shekels in Non-Tax Revenues

Data recently published by the Ministry of Finance revealed that the overall non-tax revenues collected by the Palestinian Treasury during 2015 amounted to 968.6 million shekels, slightly increasing from the collected 965.6 million shekels in 2014.

The non-tax revenues in Palestine are classified into two categories:

- Fee Revenues, which are 17 taxes collected by the ministries, such as health services, stamp, insurance, license to practice fees. The Government collected 926 million shekels in fee revenues.

- Returns on Investments, which are profits made by the State’s projects and assets. These returns greatly decreased in 2015, reaching 5 million and 200 thousand shekels, while they were expected to reach 80 million shekels. In 2014, they amounted to 39.6 million shekels.

The overall local revenues of the Treasury in 2015 reached 10 billion and 931 million shekels, the majority of which came from the clearance revenues that amounted to 7 billion and 988 million shekels, followed by the local tax revenues that amounted to 2 billion and 354 million shekels, and the tax returns that amounted to 599 million shekels.
