According to Israeli data, the newspaper said that the area of Israeli stone quarries has expanded during the past years through the licenses granted to them by the Israeli occupation authorities.

The quarries seized around 500 dunums of land between 2009 and 2014. The newspaper acquired its data through aerial pictures of the areas.

Moreover, the settlement stone quarries seized in many cases lands that are Palestinian privately owned properties.

More than ten Israeli stone quarries operate all over the West Bank, in violation of international law. However, the Supreme Court of Israel claims that these quarries do not violate international law since they serve the needs of Palestinians as well.
