Decrease in the Consumer Price Index in November

The overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Palestine declined during November 2020 by 0.37 percent compared with October 2020, said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) in a press release today.
PCBS said CPI decreased by 0.42 percent in the Gaza Strip, by 0.38 percent in the West Bank, and by 0.23 percent in Jerusalem.
The Palestinian CPI decreased during November 2020 by 0.76 percent compared with November 2019. A 1.11 percent decrease in CPI was witnessed in the West Bank, while it increased by 0.79 percent in the Gaza Strip, and by 0.28 percent in Jerusalem.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and inability to conduct face-to-face interviews, data for Consumer Price Index have been collected using mobile phones, in all of the Palestinian Governorates, said PCBS.
The number of outlets, from which Consumer Prices are collected in Palestine, reached 2,676 outlets in November 2020.
