The European Union stated that the Palestinian Authority should reconsider receiving the clearance funds, especially after the annexation stopped at least temporarily, while warning of a collapse of the system if the funds were not received.
In an interview with Al-Moasher, the European Union spokesman, Shadi Othman, explained that the current system is very difficult and on the verge of collapse, and a solution must be found quickly, especially after the ceiling of borrowing from banks reached the limit and the consumption of foreign aid.
He added that the European Union calls for receiving the clearance without a third party, given that the funds are a Palestinian right according to the agreements: Israel has a duty to transfer it and receive it from the Palestinian side.
He added that receiving the clearance funds should be reconsidered, especially with the annexation issue being suspended, at least for the time being.
