The Arab Economic and Social Council adopts the recommendation of Palestine to support it politically, economically and financially

Minister of National Economy Khaled Al-Esaily welcomed the adoption by the Arab Economic and Social Council of the recommendations of the State of Palestine regarding supporting Palestine politically, economically and financially and continuing to provide all forms of economic support to enhance the resilience of citizens in the face of the Israeli occupation policies and procedures, and to assist in providing all forms of aid and assistance necessary to overcome the consequences of the health pandemic.
Al-Esaily stressed the need for implementing the Council’s decisions by the member states to support the state of Palestine politically, economically and financially in accordance with the decisions issued by the Arab summits, especially at this time when the state of Palestine is exposed to financial siege and economic crisis and attempts to liquidate the justice of the Palestinian cause.
The Arab Economic and Social Council held a virtual meeting chaired by Kuwait, where it urged member states to continue providing the necessary support to the Palestinian economy in order to strengthen the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli occupation and to help the State of Palestine to overcome its financial crisis caused by the clearing crisis.
At the conclusion of its work, the Council urged the Arab private sector to direct part of its investments to the State of Palestine through the creation of special mechanisms and programs that the General Secretariat designs in cooperation with the relevant authorities, organizations and unions.
The Council also condemned the Israeli appropriation of Palestinian natural resources and resources and their depletion of these resources, which constitute an inherited right of the Palestinian people, and in this context, the Council calls on the General Secretariat to take the necessary measures in cooperation with Arab and international institutions with competence to hold the occupying state accountable for its theft and exploitation of these resources. In cooperation with the relevant authorities in the State of Palestine.
