The Ministry of National Economy stated today, Thursday, that the committee responsible for distributing goods within the quota distributed the permissible quantities, estimated at 1884 tons, which are various food commodities that meet the needs of the Palestinian market of these items.

The ministry said in a press statement that 62 companies, after obtaining the approval of the committee, will import these exempted quantities from customs during the coming period, which enhances food security, especially in light of the current health pandemic.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Economy announced on the 16th of last March that it opened the door for submitting import applications for goods within the quota and extended the submission of applications until the end of last month. In order to counteract the prevention of the spread of Coruna virus, and to give Palestinian companies sufficient time to submit their applications.
