Shtayyeh calls on the European Union to move from labeling settlement products to its province

Ramallah - the Palestine Economy Portal.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh called on the European Union countries to compel international companies that work in settlements to end their work in the light of the Human Rights Council publishing an initial record of these companies, in addition to not dealing with universities operating in settlements and not recognizing their certificates, and moving from marking settlement products to boycott.

This came during his reception yesterday, Wednesday, a European Parliamentary delegation, headed by a member of the European Parliament for the United Left bloc, Chairman of the Committee for Relations with Palestine Manu Pineda, and in the presence of the European Union representative to Palestine Sven Cohan von Burgsdorf, where he discussed with them the latest political developments and developments.

The Prime Minister said: "The American Century deal is catastrophic because it nullifies the two-state solution and is not consistent with international resolutions and the United Nations, and we welcome any serious initiative to resolve the conflict and find a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue."

He added: "Trump's deal has no European, Arab, or Palestinian partner, and it history for us, and the European Union must break the status quo and recognize the Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, as an embodiment of the vote of its parliaments in favor of recognition of Palestine."

He pointed to the necessity of holding an international multilateral peace conference, not being satisfied with American sponsorship alone for the peace process, and that there be other parties such as the International Quartet.

The Prime Minister continued: "Apartheid collapsed in South Africa when the world allied against it, so we must create an international coalition to end this occupation."
