The Minister of Local Government chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee of the regions named C.

The Minister of Local Government was chaired by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Development and Lending Fund of Local Authorities Eng. Majdi Al-Saleh, today, Tuesday, the meeting of the Steering Committee of the Program for the Development of Zones named C and implemented through the Fund, with the aim of adopting the list of projects for the fifth package funded by Denmark and the European Union

During the meeting held at the Fund’s headquarters in Al-Bireh City, the most prominent phases of the program were reviewed, the accomplishments achieved in the areas included in the program, in addition to mechanisms for completing the work in the fifth package, and the approval of a list of projects that were chosen according to specific and studied criteria commensurate with the needs of the population groups benefiting from The project.


The meeting, which was attended by: representatives of the European Union, Denmark, the Director General of Projects Omar Sharqi, and members of the steering committee from the relevant ministries, discussed the targeted groups during the next stage and the expansion of work areas to include additional local bodies to improve the level of services provided to citizens, and events of development and qualitative transfer In many vital areas.
In his turn, Al-Saleh stressed the importance of joining all efforts to move forward in the fifth package of the program, which would contribute to the advancement of the disadvantaged regions, pointing to the importance of implementing vital projects in these areas, in order to enhance the resilience of citizens and facilitate access to services to them.

Al-Saleh extended his sincere thanks to the Danish government and the European Union for their supportive role in the Palestinian issue, indicating that their initiative to contribute to the fifth package of the program is extremely important, and it has the greatest impact in enabling the Palestinians to establish projects in the areas targeted by the program.

Al-Saleh indicated that the fifth package of the program, funded by the Danish Agency and the European Union, aims in general to improve the social and economic conditions of Palestinian communities in the less fortunate region, which is crucial for maintaining the Palestinian presence in that region and developing the Palestinian economy in it, in light of the difficult circumstances that pass It has the Palestinian issue, especially after the US President announced the deal of the century and the Palestinian leadership affirmed its absolute rejection of it.

In turn, the representative of the European Union, Gerhard Kroos, affirmed the European Union’s political and economic stance, and that the Union is continuing its policy of continuously providing the required support towards the just Palestinian issue and continuing work on a two-state solution and the right of the Palestinian citizen to build his independent state.
