The Ministry of Health stated that several projects will be witnessed by the Hebron Governmental Hospital during the year 2020, to provide the best health services to citizens.

The ministry added, in a statement, that the occupancy rate in the Hebron Governmental Hospital is 141%, due to the population density in the Hebron Governorate.

The director of the hospital, Dr. Tariq Al-Barbrawi, The Hebron Hospital will witness the restoration of the emergency department next year with the expansion of a family between 10-20 beds, in addition to the restoration of the internal department, the increase of the number of incubators by adding 20 incubators, and the completion of the catheter section.

He added: "The hospital will also witness the opening and operation of the pathology department, the restoration of the surgical department, the creation of a department for vascular surgery, the double capacity of the oxygen station, and the restoration of the kitchen department."

Since the beginning of the year, the hospital has received more than a quarter of a million patients, as official statistics indicate that the number of entries since the beginning of the year until the end of last November amounted to 47,713 entries, while outpatient clinics in the hospital received 101,292 patients, while 11,814 major and minor operations were performed in the same period.

The number of births since the beginning of the year until the end of November reached 5580, while the emergency department received 106,014 patients.

For her part, Minister of Health Mai Al-Kaila said that the development of government medical and health centers is carried out in parallel between all provinces, to achieve a comprehensive medical renaissance.

She pointed out that the Hebron Governorate is witnessing major health projects, such as: the construction of the Dura Governmental Hospital, and the President Mahmoud Abbas Hospital in Halhul, which means that after the opening of the two new hospitals, 5 hospitals will be located, which are Alia Governmental, Al-Mohtaseb, the Government Yatta, and the two new hospitals.

She explained that the population density in Hebron, and the settlement threat to which it is exposed, is pushing the Ministry to develop services in this governorate.
