The Palestinian Ministry of Transportation said that the cost of replacing a valid or damaged paper driving license with a new magnetic one is thirty-two NIS; thirty of which go into the Treasury, and two of which go to the bank.
Ayman Shqair, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Transportation, explained that this cost is demanded per the “Damaged License Replacement” application. And so, the license holder can choose whether to replace the license and pay the fees, or to wait until the license expires and automatically renew it and pay the regular renewal fees.
He also confirmed to the Palestine Economy Portal that the new “magnetic” driver’s licenses have been agreed on and acknowledged by the Israeli side.
