Palestinian Egyptian Trade Exchange Discussions and the establishment of joint investments

Khaled Esseili, the Minister of National Economy, held joint discussions with Egyptian Officials in the investment, manufacturing, and trade sectors in order to increase the trade exchange between Palestine and Egypt, along with supporting the Palestinian Governments’ vision regarding the gradual disintegration from the Economy of the Israeli Occupation.
Both sides looked for possibilities to seal the deals regarding mutual recognition of certificates of conformity and quality mark in order to facilitate, increase and develop trade between the two countries. Furthermore, they looked for the possibility of reaching an agreement for the establishment and development of industrial zones and industrial technological zones.
The discussions included ways to strengthening the economic, trade, and technical cooperation in order to increase the trade exchange of agricultural and industrial products and products of animal wealth and natural resources of local origin to and from the other party. In addition to providing all the possible facilitations in order to support import and export movements between the two countries.
Both parties looked into strengthening bilateral investment relations, starting up investment projects, and setting up a joint action plan; which includes investment cooperation. They also stressed the importance of continuing the implementation of Resolution No. 200 of the Arab Summit held in Cairo in 2000, which facilitates the entry of Palestinian products and exempt them from paying customs duties and taxes of similar effect.
Both parties assured the importance of forming a joint Egyptian-Palestinian Economic Committee and activating the joint Business Council and exchanging businessmen missions to meet their counterparts in both countries.
