PECDAR and Ministry of Education sign a memorandum of understanding to perform 3 school projects in Gaza Strip

The President of PECDAR, Mohammad Abu Awad, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Minister of MOE, Dr. Marwan Awartani, on Sunday in order to authorize PECDAR to carry out 3 governmental schools projects in Gaza Strip, with the presence of Eng. Raed Anabtawi, Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs in PECDAR.
The value of the memorandum is 4.070 million USD and it is part of a financing agreement from the Islamic Development Bank “Jeddah” and Al-Aqsa Fund to build 10 schools; 7 in the West Bank and 3 in Gaza Strip, with financing that reached 12 million USD.
The memorandum includes PECDAR establishing, furnishing, and equipping Khalil Nubani School in the province of East Gaza, along with Ahmad Ibn Abdulaziz School in the province of Khan Younis and another school in the province of Western Gaza.
Abu Awad welcomed working on raising the cooperation between PECDAR and MOE through many projects that aim to develop and improve the performance of educational institutions and the educational system in general.
On the other hand, Dr. Awartani said that he seeks to include the cooperation with PECDAR in working in Areas “C”, as well as including it in projects that are related to Solar energy in public schools.
The Minister thanked PECDAR and its entire staff for their efforts to support the ministry’s development orientations.
