The Palestinian Minister of Agriculture invites France to reconsider the Paris Economic Protocol

Ramallah- Palestine Economy Portal.

The Palestinian Minister of Agriculture Riad Attari called on France for an urgent intervention to reconsider the Paris Economic Protocol, which defines the economic relationship between Palestine and the Israeli occupation.

During his meeting with the French Consul General in Jerusalem, Pierre Cochard, the Minister stressed the necessity of reviewing and amending the Paris Agreement, as the Israeli occupation poses economic obstacles through certain limitations in the Protocol, preventing Agricultural and Industrial projects in Palestinian lands.

The two sides discussed the activation of the agreements between the two countries, foremost of which is the Declaration of Principles signed between the Palestinian and French Ministries of Agriculture. They agreed to start developing a plan of action to implement this declaration as soon as possible.

The Minister of Agriculture explained the strategy of the Palestinian Cabinet aimed at self-reliance for the development of the national economy, pointing out to the adoption of the plan of economic clusters, especially the agricultural cluster, which will start work soon from the province of Qalqilya.

For his part, the French Consul General expressed great interest in the plan of the agricultural cluster, and promised to work hard and provide all possible support for the success of this plan
