The so called “Economic prosperity” promoted at Bahrain’s Workshop… illusions doomed to fail
Palestine Economy Portal
Dr. Sameer Huleileh, a senior Palestinian economist, reports key notes regarding the U.S Economic plan for the Middle East after the release of Bahrain’s workshop agenda.
The plan promotes development in the Middle East; focusing on the human factor with repetitive and vague mentions of building a happy and healthy environment for Palestinians. However, the humorous part is that the plan failed to mention the political and cultural rights of the Palestinian nation under the Israeli occupation.
When a convention of this type is held, you would expect other Arab countries such as Syria, Libya, and Yemen as they suffer from political and security instability. Where the same “generic” plan could be applied through private sector. This shows the colonial mindset of the U.S and Israel; as they believe that nations do not need the freedom for development and that people would be able to guarantee their future by sending their kids to top universities, namely “American”, and also call for military coups supported by the U.S.
The American economic peace plan never spoke of Israel’s obstacles on the Palestinian development and views the Palestinian struggle as an internal economic issue, sharing delusional economic promises with similar previous international plans (from World Bank development plan for Palestine economy in1994 to Kiri’s 4 billion investment plan).
In addition to public and national events planned to face the U.S Century deal and convention, Dr. Huleileh proposed further strategic steps to reply to the allegations of corruption and political corruption holding Palestinians from their development.
