The European airplane manufacturer “Airbus” said that is doesn’t see any legal sustenance for the US to move towards implementing commercial sanctions on our planes. The US also warned of deepening the trade tensions.
This came after Washington implemented taxes on multiple European Union products; ranging from large commercial aircrafts to daily products and wine, all of this was response to the European funding for the planes.
A dispute between the USA and the EU lasted for more than 10 years based on allegations of illegal assistance to Boeing and Airbus pilots.
The World Trade Organization ruled that both sides paid billions of dollars of funding in order to gain advantage; it also obliged them to stop and face the possible penalties.
Airbus spokesperson, René Ollé, said that the company has taken actions to comply with the remaining requirements; which were described as “relatively minor.”
He added that the United States' talk of $ 11 billion in damage caused by EU support for Airbus was exaggerated.
On the other hand, a source from the European Commission said that the EU is ready for a possible response.
