PCBS: exports have decreased 17% last January

PCBS announced that the exports of January 2019 decreased by 17% compared to the previous month. It also recorded a slight decrease of 0.2% compared to January of 2018, which is worth 82.7 million USD.
PCBS explained that the exports to Israel decreased by 16% in January compared to the previous month. Israel’s exports formed 88% of the total value of exports of January 2019. Exports to the rest of the world also decreased by 29% compared to the previous month, which is worth 9.7 million USD.
Imports in goods
The imports of January 2019 increased by 1% compared to the previous month, it also increased by 8% compared to January 2018, which is worth 502.7 million USD.
Israel’s imports decreased by 2% in January 2019, compared to the previous month, they also formed 55% of the total value of imports of January 2019. Imports with countries from the rest of the world increased by 6% compared to the previous month.
Trade Balance on registered goods
The trade balance that represents the difference between imports and exports scored an increase in the trade deficit by 6% in January 2019, compared to the previous month. The trade balance also increased by 10% in comparison to January 2018, with the deficit reaching 420 million USD.
