“PECDAR” supports 30 clubs in the Governorate of Jerusalem with approximately 500 thousand USD
With funding from the Islamic Development Bank, “PECDAR” supports 30 clubs in the Governorate of Jerusalem with approximately 500 thousand USD.
Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh, the president of PECDAR, assured that the strengthening the resistance of the Palestinian citizen in Jerusalem is a national priority. He added that we must work to improve the development and services in the city in order to confront the Israeli settlement plans and Judaization schemes in Jerusalem; the eternal capital of the State of Palestine.
The distribution of the scholarships occurred in the presence of Eng. Adnan Husseini, PECDAR’s project manager Eng. Raed Anabtawi, Mu’tasem Abu Gharbiya; the representative of the Higher Council for Youth and Sports, Eng. Samer Kharouf from the Economic Council, the President of the Jerusalem Clubs Association Ahmed Sorour and the Mayor of Al-Ram, Mr. Raki Ghazzawneh.
The scholarship includes supplying the clubs with tools, sports equipment, furniture, tools, etc., along with covering the expenses of several activities and events.
The scholarship aims to strengthen the resistance of the people of Jerusalem and to develop the sports movement, along with keeping the youth engaged and away from harmful community lesions. It also works on increasing self-resource opportunities for clubs. All of these points are part of the deal with the Islamic Development Bank that supports the city of Jerusalem and its suburbs with 6 million USD; including the Education, health, youth and sports sectors, strengthening women, renovating buildings, in addition to the social and cultural sectors.
