The municipality of Ramallah launched this project with funds from China, with value of 8 million USD, in order to build a ring road that includes 9 routes and each route is 7.5 km in length. This ring road will connect the outskirts of the city and decrease the traffic. The construction is expected to begin by the end of 2018; the road should be completed in 14 months.
The Mayor of Ramallah, Musa Hadid, said: “This road will open up many fields for the citizens to invest, build, expand the city center and increase job opportunities.”
He added: “this project will be a temporary medium term solution for the increasing traffic problem in the city until larger road network is planned out.”
