Palestine Economy Portal | UNRWA’s workers union announced the existence of a work dispute with the Agency, as a result of demanding the Commissioner General to cancel all measures which he called “temporary austerity measures that will end once the financial crisis does.” They demanded the cancellation of the decision due to the end of the reasons that brought it from the first place.

The union said that the financial deficit has been covered, clarifying that, “they consider the continuation of these measures and not abandoning them a declaration of war against workers in all regions, for the decision has unfair consequences on the employees.”

The union declared in a formal statement that they shall continue the protest activities through the implementation of activities announced by the Regions Conference, and continue the communication with the official, popular, and national authorities.
